WELCOME TO KETAMINE INFUSION CENTER'S WEBSITE

We are excited about offering this new treatment option to Louisiana and the surrounding area. We are the first ketamine infusion center in the state, and we look forward to providing patients with safe, effective, quality care at a reasonable cost. All patients will be screened by Dr. Ball prior to any treatments, and Dr. Ball will be on site for all infusions to adjust treatment dosage and address any problems that may arise. All screening is free, but we must have a consult from a medical provider to initiate a ketamine infusion series. We will contact your medical provider and help obtain a consult if necessary. We will also send a report to your provider on your progress and make future recommendations for ongoing treatment. All treatments are done in the clinic, and we do not write any prescriptions.

What is ketamine?

Ketamine historically is an induction and maintenance anesthetic that was FDA approved in 1970 and has a long history for a wide margin of safety. Although originally developed as an anesthetic, recent studies have revealed additional uses for ketamine that benefit certain psychological and pain conditions. The use of ketamine for these conditions is termed “off label” because they are not uses under the original patent, and it is too costly for drug companies to add new uses for a drug with an expired patent. Intravenous ketamine is the gold standard for treating these off label conditions and other methods, such as intranasal ketamine, appear to be inferior in their efficacy.
